An Apology
SIR MARTIN SORRELL– AN APOLOGY
In March 2006 a blog was posted anonymously on the worldwide internet which contained allegations of wrongful business conduct, which were seriously defamatory of Sir Martin Sorrell, the Chief Executive of WPP, the well known services and marketing group. The site was closed, but in April two further blog sites were opened and republished the allegations. Sir Martin Sorrell brought libel proceedings to vindicate his reputation against FullSix S.p.A., FullSIX S.a.s., Mr Marco Benatti, and Mr Marco Tinelli in relation to the blogs.
As a result of technical computer evidence Fullsix accept that at least the first blog site may have originated from someone within FullSix S.p.A. or FullSIX S.a.s.. To the extent that anyone from Fullsix was involved, this was never authorised or encouraged by the Defendants. Further, the Defendants have never sought to argue that the allegations about Sir Martin Sorrell were true and fully accept that they are without justification. Having regard to the possible involvement of a Fullsix employee, Fullsix apologises unreservedly to Sir Martin Sorrell for any distress or damage caused and undertakes to take firm disciplinary action against anyone found to have been involved. Mr Benatti and Mr Tinelli unequivocally approve this apology.
